Second time here. Very tender and delicious brisket. I order moist so it comes with more fat mingled into the meat. Im very glad they give choices. Staff very friendly. There was a line out the door at lunch proving its popularity. My wife had ribs where the meat was falling off the bone.

This is good BBQ done right. I agree with the people who said the sides could have been better, but it reminded me of grandmas homemade cooking so I enjoyed them.

One of the best BBQ Ive ever had. I grew up on smoked meats and yall are definitely pit masters!!! Pulled pork is tender juicy melts in your mouth with the hickory smoked flavors! And that BBQ Sauce is definitely a familiar flavored delicious sauce! 😋 Jalepino coleslaw is amazing! Just enough kick with crispy cabbage. and some creaminess on that slaw!..Ranch potato, fresh potato bread, Mac n cheese, pinto beans, and all the fixing! man on man. someone kiss the cooks for me tonight!!!!

I came to visit my daughter and we had lunch. We had brisket and green beans. It was well worth the wait. I bought a bottle of sauce to take back to Cincinnati with me. But now Im out of sauce and no mail orders. Thanks guys the food was awesome. Will send my daughter down to buy a couple of bottles of sauce to send home

Ive NEVER judged a Barbecue place by their sides, that would be against Texas Barbecue Law, but if I did, this place would knick the socks off everyone. Yes, the sides are THAT SPECIAL! But the beauty of The Shed is the MEAT. Wow! This is the real deal in Texas Barbecue. Ive tried all their meats at one point or another and have been blown away every time. Each time I visit Abilene, my trip is always planned around a feast at The Shed. Kudos for The Shed doing it right.

The Shed is good, but I like my ribs to be fall off the bone tender and the sauce baked on. All in all we enjoyed our lunch and will probably go back for the brisket.

Great brisket - moist and had the right amount of fat and a great char. Jalapeño sausage had cheese in it which was a welcomed surprised. Cilantro slaw was amazing as well. Well done! Ill be back!

Not Good!!!It takes a lot for me to not give at least a 3 star rating. Visually this place is great, staff are attentive and food comes out fast. However I believe its fast service because they dont care about their product. I ordered a 3 meat plate. My ribs were tough, dry, and hard. My brisket was hard and flavorless. Sausage is sausage ‍. Jalapeño cornbread was dry , my potato salad was god awful. 10/10 would not recommend.

The food was delicious, but Id have to disagree this place was kid friendly. No kids menu, which was fine as we just got a couple of plates to share among us all. But not being from Texas, my kids arent used to everything having a bit of heat to it. The mac & cheese was too spicy for them.And my wife had to change our sons diaper on the floor as there was no changing table in the ladies room.For a place that offers familial style dining, a couple of things could be done to make it easier for families with younger kids.But as ever else has said, the brisket was AMAZING!

They have Prime Rib specials weekly that usually falls on a Thursday. Their moist brisket is just done right. BBQ sauce is top notch! To top it all off, there is so much marbling fat that comes with the moist brisket or prime rib that it is simply divine! It is a must try and will not disappoint. Bless the people that allows us to enjoy the food!

Barbecue is legit amazing & youll hear all about it, but the SIDES are my absolute FAVORITE sides in town!! Try mac & cheese with green chilies, jalapeño corn, coleslaw with amazing FLAVOR, green beans with giant chunks of bacon, ranch beans with a ton of seasoning... everything is worth trying! And dont forget the banana pudding. 💜

My fiancé and I came in again today! We come here every time we are craving BBQ. The staff is so friendly and the portions are perfect. I usually get the jalapeño sausage, but we came a little later in lunch and they had run out. After getting our meal and eating half they came by and surprised us with some jalapeño sausage. We will definitely be returning customers. If you are in Abilene and haven’t tried The Shed you are missing out! Picture not provided because we ate it all!

The brisket had a nice and flavorful bark and the inside was tender and juicy. I really enjoyed the sandwich I had. I dont remember the name of it, but it had beef, pork, sausage, and I think even chicken on it. It was a total mess, but that was expected.

Huuuge servings of DELICIOUS food. Prices are typical of a BBQ joint and well worth it. Get there early. Its a very popular spot and they run out of food items quickly. The parking lot is tight, so always back in to a spot!

Very good and tender ribs and brisket. My first here traveling from south and pleasantly surprised! The seasoning wasn’t too strong. The meat fell from the bones. Not a low-budget meal though. For wife and me was $43 for two-meat plates.

Wonderful food. I mean really really good.. very crowded and you have to sit mashed up against everyone at long tables with benches which is uncomfortable on many levels especially with covid. Definitely get the food but just get it to go. Atmosphere is bleh; food is heck yeah.

While in Abilene visiting my daddy, our daughter found this place on Yelp. So we called to make sure they were open since it was July 4th. Lucky for us they were. Because they absolutely have the BEST brisket and bbq sauce at unbelievable prices. House made pickles and fresh chopped onions on the condiment counter and loaves of Martin’s potato bread on every table. The coleslaw was made with cilantro and was unbelievably tasty. The pinto beans with fresh onions were the perfect side for the brisket. My dad ordered potato salad and said it was good but needed a bit of mustard to cut the mayo. There were several other sides offered as well. Everything smoked was sold out except the brisket when we got there so we didn’t get to try any pulled pork or ribs but the brisket was exactly how we liked it with some nice char and the fat and collagen nicely melted from the long smoking. It was so tender and flavorful. They use mesquite for smoking and the meat has that true Texas bbq flavor that you can’t get anywhere else. The shed is owned by the nicest people and the service was true southern hospitality. They honor the military with a discount. We happened to be there on July 4th and a retired Air Force officer was paying for all military active duty and retirees and their families meals. My dad was so excited he called his friends and told them. They also serve free beer from a local Abilene brewery. Daddy said it was really good too! We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Abilene. The Shed Market is totally latex free and the market is open until 6 pm to buy high quality butchered meats to take home and cook. We were told a long line forms before they open and they usually run out of smoked meats by 1:30 or 2pm. So plan you lunch trip accordingly so you don’t miss out!

Ive had the pleasure of enjoying The Shed Market quite a few times now. Typically, its a to-go order of a sandwich picked up for work, but Ive also requested it for a couple special occasions at home too. I love the convenience of being able to pick up the meats from there and cook them at home to add to our dishes!I have not been disappointed in the least, with their meats! I have not had the BBQ yet, but did get three tenderloin steaks. The steaks were some of the best cuts of meat Ive ever had. 100% recommend you go here.

Extremely clean, friendly, and flavorful. The best BBQ Ive had in town in quite some time. Good sized portions. Just make sure you get there before the rush or the line will be out the door. Definitely coming back.

Pork ribs were the highlight, along with the sides (green beans and jalapeno cornbread). Brisket was good. Poultry (turkey and chicken) must be brined, because they were too salty to finish. Staff was great.

Its the best tasting meat in town thus far. Its not really what I consider the more traditonal BBQ but thats what I love so much about it. Its just delicious so good most of the meat doesnt even need sauce. Its just juicy and full of flavor. There is a reason you see lines there and its well worth the wait. The staff is always friendly too so its a very welcoming environment. The Banana pudding is really good too. The price is good too for what you are getting because its really the best hands down in town.

I had the rib plate and it was amazing. The meat is so tender it melts in your mouth. The spices and BBQ sauce were perfect. I wish we had this restaurant in my home town. The beans and potato salad made the meal complete. I loved the openness and style.Definitely want to go back when I come back to Abilene.

Yep. Exactly Texas BBQ. The brisket was amazing, choice of lean or blend (I had to get the blend...the fats where its at!), and the sides were just as delish. When they are sold out, usually around 4pm, they lock up and go home. YUM!Deets:I have food sensitivities, and was able to eat any of the meats and the green beans and some chips. There was a giant bin of pickles and jalepenos that I helped myself to as well.Co-workers got brisket sammies (ginormous), meat combos, slaw, mac n cheese, and ribs. Everyone was raving...not one bad item.Paper towel rolls on the picnic tables are very helpful (super casual eat with your hands type of place)BBQ sauce on the tables as well; sweet and sticky and perfect with any of the meats.Loaf of bread on the table as well (??) but hey maybe sometimes thats what it takes.They serve beer.It was a random time of day and packed.Outdoor seating available.

This was my first visit here and I was blown away by the line that starts forming about 15 minutes before they open! The decor and the experience inside is a rustic modern smokehouse feel with a little steam punk mixed in. The Shed opens at 11 for lunch and they serve until they run out of food, which I hear happens daily. I recommend getting there at 10:45 if you dont want to wait the line that is out the door by 11:05. You can order your smoked BBQ as meal to eat there or as carry out and they also have a meat market where you can purchase your meat to take home and prepare how you want to. The reason this place is so busy is because there food is amazingly delicious. The sausage was great and the sides were equally as good. But the brisket was the best brisket Ive ever tasted! Hands down it is the best brisket in Abilene. I will at some point venture off the brisket train to try some of their other meats but its so hard when its so gooooood! One last bonus, they offer free beer ever day! Thats not a typo, they offer free beer on a daily basis from local breweries! You have to eat here for the mouthgasim. You will not leave unsatisfied!

Got food to go,brisket was very fatty,pulled pork was mostly burnt.not much meat because of burnt side. Cole slaw was odd tasting.

While The Shed is a little higher priced than we typically like, the food didn’t disappoint. The brisket was moist, even the fat cap was amazing. The servings are massive. Also, the bacon ranch potato salad is on POINT! I wish the banana pudding had more bananas in it ( our serving had 1), but it was still delicious and fluffy. I highly recommend this place.

We love coming in for the best barbecue and sides in Texas! Their brisket is beefy, moist, and melts in your mouth -- no sauce needed. They also have dry-aged products and amazing akaushi wagyu to cook at home (including picanha). Whenever we have guests in town, we make sure they get to have a Shed experience!

Excellent! The brisket has that great texture. It is juicy and tender. The sausage is great, not salty at all. The pinto beans are pretty good. The raw meats looked good as well. The crew is welcoming, friendly and pleasant. This is a newer store and it looks like it. It is clean and well maintained. This could easily be the top brisket spot in Abilene.

I have only eaten at The Shed once. But i plan on becoming a regular customer. The Shed has some of the best barbeque Ive had in Texas. No matter what kind of meat you get. Its falling off the bone. Tender, seasoned very well, nice portion. Beans are delicious. They make their own pickles. Sliced up thick. And are good. Tea is sweetened well. Service is like talking to an old friend. They were very nice and polite. Order didnt take long. Big long tables with seating for everyone. And picnic tables outside for you to dine. And they do bring your food out. As well as check on you frequently to see if you need anything. Price is decent. Oh and you can ask for whole briskets, hams, steaks and more for purchase. For home, parties, ect. Fully cooked to yiur liking. I can say it was overall a great dining experience. Be back soon for sure.

If you like bbq do not go to The Shed Market. The bbq sauce had a twang of something that wasnt good. The ribs were dry and almost tasteless (toothpick material). Kinda like beef jerky. Sausage had no flavor at all. Blackberry cobbler was ok.

The sausage was ok. The pulled pork is not worth dying over. But the brisket made me forget that they werent wearing masks.

Yes, this is by far my favorite spot to eat. A little pricey but great food comes with a price tag and I don’t mind paying for something that is this good. Cannot wait for everything to get back to normal again. I rather eat inside the restaurant. Restaurant gets pretty busy and packed during lunch time. Love The Shed Market.

I went to this restaurant today for lunch and got the chicken and pulled pork. This is simply the best bbq Ive ever had. The chicken was very flavorful, and the pork was excellent. My friend got the brisket and said it was great as well. Pick any thing, you cant go wrong!

Hands down best BBQ in Abilene. Worth every penny. Get fat and lean brisket... throw in some ribs. Potato bread on the table? You’re dang right. Only comment is they need to work on the congestion up at front with people waiting on their food...blocking drink station and pickle bar. Get up and go there. A lot.
